🎓 Serving Universiti Malaya (2001–2024)
I often say that I grew alongside the university.
For 23 years, I served the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya. What began as a professional appointment gradually became a journey of learning, service, friendship, and personal growth.
The university provided opportunities to teach, research, lead, collaborate, and contribute in ways I could never have imagined when I first started. Along the way, I learned lessons that extended far beyond accounting and higher education—lessons about people, purpose, resilience, and lifelong learning.
When I look back on those years, I do not see only roles held or responsibilities fulfilled. I see a community that helped shape my thinking, broaden my perspective, and influence the person I have become.
This photograph was taken after the retirement appreciation ceremony in December 2024—a moment of gratitude for a chapter that profoundly shaped my journey and continues to influence the paths I choose today.
🎤 Professional Emceeing Assessment (2025)
This photograph was taken following the announcement of the practical assessment results for my professional emceeing certification.
Beyond the assessment itself, what remains memorable was the opportunity to engage in a meaningful conversation with one of the examiners about theatre, performance, communication, and the role of storytelling in society. It was a reminder that effective communication extends beyond techniques and presentation skills—it is also about understanding people, connecting with audiences, and appreciating the wider impact of words and performance.
The experience reinforced my belief that learning often happens in unexpected conversations, and that some of the most valuable lessons emerge long after the formal assessment has ended.
🎤 Finding Our Voice Together
This photograph was taken at the 10th Malaysian Skills Certification Convocation (2025), where my fellow candidates and I celebrated the completion of our professional emceeing assessment journey.
Many of my fellow candidates were already actively involved in emceeing and public events, bringing with them a wealth of experience, confidence, and natural stage presence. Being part of this group was both a learning opportunity and a privilege. Their talent, generosity, and encouragement contributed greatly to what became a memorable and enjoyable journey. Beyond the formal assessments and certification, I remember the many small moments shared in the classroom — practising scripts, testing sound systems, exchanging feedback, and learning from one another. These simple moments of camaraderie transformed the programme into something more than a professional development experience; they became memories of friendship, laughter, and mutual encouragement.

📖 Connected Through Writing
Some friendships begin through shared workplaces, while others begin through shared passions.
This photograph was taken with Simple Shida (SS), founder of InTouch eBook, during the 10th Convocation Ceremony of the Malaysian Skills Certification (Persijilan Kemahiran Malaysia) in 2025. While I completed the SKM Publication Support certification, SS was awarded her Diploma Kemahiran in Publishing.
Over time, our paths became connected through a mutual interest in writing, self-publishing, books, and helping others share their stories. Beyond the qualifications earned, this moment celebrates the friendships, encouragement, and sense of community that can emerge when people come together through a common passion.

Throughout the programme, the management and staff of Galaxy Skills Academy were consistently supportive, approachable, and encouraging. They took an active interest in our progress, checked on our readiness for assessments, and patiently guided us through the various requirements of the certification process. Their professionalism was matched by a genuine concern for the learning experience of every participant.
Looking back, I remain grateful for the guidance, encouragement, and commitment shown by the trainers and staff who accompanied us throughout the journey. Their support helped transform what could have been a challenging process into an enjoyable and rewarding learning experience.

The journey towards becoming an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer involved more than completing assessments and meeting technical requirements. It was also made possible through the guidance and support of people who were willing to share their expertise along the way.
I was introduced to Ms Fatin of NF Tech Solutions through a recommendation from Galaxy Skills Academy. As an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer herself, she understood the standards and requirements expected for the video assessment process. Together with her husband, she provided professional support, practical guidance, and patient assistance throughout the preparation and submission stages.
What I appreciated most was not only their technical expertise, but also their willingness to guide me through an unfamiliar process with kindness and encouragement. Their support helped transform what initially felt like a daunting requirement into a manageable and rewarding learning experience.
